Abstract:   (216 Views)
Background: Breast cancer as one of the most common types of cancer in women has significant psychological and social impacts. The present study aimed to investigate and compare the effectiveness of mindfulness-based cognitive therapy (MBCT) and cognitive rehabilitation based on binaural beats on mood status in women with breast cancer.
Materials and methods: In this quasi-experimental study with a pretest-posttest control group design, women with breast cancer who referred to selected hospitals in Tehran in 2024 were studied. From this population, 42 individuals were purposefully selected and randomly assigned to two experimental groups and one control group. The interventions MBCT implemented for two months and Binaural beats were implemented for one month and a follow-up was carried out one and a half months later. Data were collected using the Brums Mood Scale (2007). Data were analyzed using repeated measures ANOVA.
Results: The results indicated that MBCT had a greater impact on improving mood status in women with breast cancer compared to cognitive rehabilitation with binaural beats.
Conclusion: These results can inform the design of more effective psychological interventions for women with breast cancer. It is recommended that mindfulness-based therapies be incorporated into supportive care protocols in treatment centers.
