تأثیر کاهش وزن ناشی از رژیم کم‌کالری بر کیفیت زندگی و عزت‌ نفس زنان ایرانی دارای اضافه‌وزن یا چاق (مطالعه مداخله‌ای نیمه تجربی)

سابقه و هدف: معضل چاقی، یکی از مسائل بهداشتی و پزشکی در جوامع است  که سلامت جسمی و روانی را به خطر می‌اندازد. هدف این مطالعه، بررسی اثر رژیم کم‌کالری 16 هفته‌ای بر کیفیت زندگی و عزت‌ نفس زنان چاق یا دارای اضافه­وزن بود. فرضیۀ این مطالعه آن است که کاهش وزن موجب افزایش میانگین نمرات کیفیت زندگی و عزت‌نفس می‌شود.
روش بررسی: روش پژوهش نیمه تجربی، از نوع پیش‌آزمون – پس‌آزمون به مدت  16 هفته بود. 116 زن دارای اضافه‌وزن یا چاق  تحت رژیم کم‌کالری قرار گرفتند. ارزیابی‌های تن‌سنجی، دریافت رژیم غذایی (با استفاده از یاد آمد غذایی 24 ساعته)، فرم کوتاه پرسشنامه بین‌المللی فعالیت فیزیکی (IPAQ: International physical activity questionnaire)، پرسشنامه نسخه فارسی کیفیت زندگی The Short Form Health Survey(SF-36)) و پرسشنامه عزت‌نفس روزنبرگ در ابتدا و بعد از 16 هفته از شروع مداخله بررسی شد. 
یافته­ها: درصد وزن کاهش یافته در مقایسه با وزن اولیه  62/3 ±7 % بود.  بعد از مداخله  نمرات حیطه‌های جسمی کیفیت زندگی ، مقیاس  خلاصه سلامت جسمی (PCS) و  نشاط (VT) به‌صورت معنی­داری افزایش یافت (001/0> P). کاهش وزن 5٪ و بالاتر با تغییر معنی­دار در میانگین نمره عزت ‌نفس و حیطه‌های جسمی کیفیت زندگی بود (001/0> P).
نتیجه­گیری: نتایج این مطالعه نشان می‌دهد که حتی کاهش متوسط وزن، بدون دست‌یابی به وزن ایده آل، می‌تواند بهبود قابل‌توجهی در کیفیت زندگی و عزت‌نفس زنان چاق ایجاد کند. بنابراین، مداخلات باید بر تداوم و پایداری تغییرات سبک زندگی تأکید داشته باشند.
